Embracing Your Shadow
The shadow side of us is comprised of everything we push into the unconscious because we feared we would be rejected by people around us, especially those that bring it to the surface in us. We desparately believe we will lose their love if we let them down or disappoint them, so we learn to try to please them and deny our own feelings. This need to please people is a deeply ingrained part of ourselves, and it causes us to look outside of ourselves for self worth. Then, because we worry about what others think about us, and we look to others for validation that our truth is okay.
Many times we tend to project these feelings unto others and want to show only our positive emotions to those closest to us. Running away, hiding, or going into resistance doesn’t help! But there are many tools we can use to make friends with our shadow side. Then, instead of resisting it, we walk hand in hand with it. This is the theme of our workshop on August 1st and 2nd. It is open to all and will be taught by Hope and I (click here for more info).
There is so much good in our shadow side! Healing it, you discover many faucets of your power and creativity that have been locked away and are ready to come back out! I recently taught this as a four-week phone class, and we had so much fun that Hope and I decided to open it to everyone. All the participants strengthened their spiritual abilities and uncovered parts they loved about themselves in the process. By changing their perceptions, they were no longer were afraid to express all sides of themselves. Yes, it can take a while to totally change how we respond, but inwardly, after we heal the pain that caused it to happen in the first place, the rest is easy!
Instead of resisting these shadow parts of you, we invite you to come play and heal an old part of yourself that you might have been ashamed of or dreaded anyone knowing about. The freedom is exhilerating, and opens you up to all the gifts you have hidden inside. When we get down to it, we really are all the same, just with different stories. We teach energy tools that give you the awareness and ability to turn it around and choose anew how you want to respond, right now in present time. Join us in August to release old pain and live the rest of your life in freedom as your authentic self, alive and full of life! Namaste.❦
